A Foremost Claims Story: Hurricane Michael in Marianna, FL

On October 10, 2018, Hurricane Michael violently made landfall on the Florida Panhandle. During the storm, a tree fell and crushed Linda Smith’s mobile home, making it unlivable.

Pam, Linda’s sister, witnessed the destruction firsthand. “It was the scariest thing I’ve been through,” she recalls. “I’ve never seen anything like it.”

With nowhere to go and an uncertainty for the future, Linda turned to Foremost.

Went thru Hurricane Michael , devastating.  I have Foremost on another property in a different state.  Glad to see they came thru quickly. Many here in Panama City still waiting to get other insurance companies to pay.

I was a foremost customer with a claim but our adjuster did not want to pay out on our claim.  He kept insisting on having a receipt so I supplied him a receipt from the contractor who installed our cabinets showing it was paid but that wasn't good enough for him he waited two weeks and then requested pictures so I sent him one but that wasn't good enough either.  He wanted more pictures,  I refused to supply them based on principle because he was just making us run in circles so we never did get our $9,000. for the cabinets.  This insurance really sucks.  If you don't want to get your money for a loss go with them  otherwise tell your agent to find someone else.

We had extensive damage due to Hurricane Michael.  Our claims adjuster had the money in our bank account in two days.  He also kept checking back with us to make sure we were happy and make sure we had no questions.  His last call came to us while he was driving through Louisiana on his way home.  I could not have expected a better response by an insurance company.

Our adjuster talks to us like we are stupid. Very condescending and rude. We are 4 months later and still waiting because he doesn't want to pay for the damage to be fully repaired.

I'm glad for the ones got paid  right I wasent one of them got the run around for months then they even did adepreaction on material and labor I got my renewal today and the police went up again this year

Just talked to the company I bought the foremost policy though about a tree that is
about to fall on my mobile home. It will totally destroy it.  I was told they would not help in removing this tree....but they will pay for damages if it falls. This tree is going to fall as soon as a strong wind blows. which we get all the time in florida. Why would you not cover this before it happens?

This is a great Story. We write Mobile homes with Foremost and I am impressed how they handled Linda's claim.
